Hailing from Birmingham in the West Midlands, IO Earth is the brainchild of long-time friends and writing duo Dave Cureton and Adam Gough, and came into being as a challenge they gave themselves to write an album of music that was truly unique. That album exploded onto the progressive rock scene in 2009 and was instantly branded one of the most important releases of the decade.
They class themselves as a symphonic/art/progressive rock band, and they seamlessly blend a number of styles of music as they play, but with an emphasis on progressive rock. They released their fourth album, Solitude, in 2018.
IO Earth consists of: Dave Cureton (guitars, vocals, orchestration, programming), Adam Gough (keys, piano, vocals, orchestration, programming), Luke Shingler (soprano sax, flute, EWI), Jez King (violin), Christian Nokes (bass), CJ Jerromes (drums, percussion), Rosanna Lefevre (vocals)
